UPDATE: 12.02.2024
Hi folks!
Good news and bad news coming your way.
Good news:
WE HAVE AN ALTERNATE CARRIER! All Canadian and United States orders now have a way to be dispatched to you. If you've ordered a package with tracking it will be dispatched in a timely manner and shipped to you within 6-10 business days after dispatch.
Bad news:
This does not include international (Outside of Canada or the USA) orders or untracked lettermail orders. Those are still being processed but held at my workshop until further notice.
As well, any orders that were shipped before the strike and are currently marked in tracking as "delayed" I have no further information on. They are in the hands of Canada Post who are currently not at work. I cannot get them back and unfortunately cannot offer refunds or replacements at this time.
I know this is frustrating, I know you have deadlines... So do I. I'm a singular person who is working 14-16 hours a day making patches, packing them, answering your questions, working on other aspects of my business, etc. Whatever frustrations you're feeling I echo them tenfold. I understand, believe me.
Thank you for the patience, thank you for those who have been kind and given me words of encouragement, it means the world. Hopefully the Canada Post union and Canada Post can reach an agreement soon, but for now we're all in the same boat together.
Thank you all for reading this far and if you have any questions please don't hesitate to reach out at cospayton@gmail.com.
Be kind, treat one another well, and as always... Happy making.
ORIGINAL POST FROM 11.13.2024 BELOW
Hi folks.
As Canada post prepares to go on strike I wanted to get ahead and let everyone know that due to this there will be delays. I'm not sure what these delays will look like yet nor how long the strike may last, but in an effort to be transparent I wanted to ensure you all know the status of any outstanding orders.
At this time I am still hand making, packing, and fulfilling orders as normal and sending them out to dispatch via Canada Post. If that changes, I will make a new post or an update to this one letting you know.
Why can't I use a different service provider?
Most of my outstanding orders currently are patch orders shipped via untracked lettermail/stamp mail. This is the most cost effective method for both you and me at a maximum of $4 for international orders.
If I was to ship to another service provider those packages would go up to nearly $50 to ship. For one single patch. No, there is no cheaper option near me. Unfortunately I don't live in a large metropolitan city where multiple options are available and I have to take what I am given. I refuse to make folks pay over triple for shipping than their actual product's cost.
What if I need my order by a certain date?
if you have purchased shipping with tracking you can use that tracking number provided at dispatch to check exactly where your package is within Canada Post or your local shipping provider's network. Once packages leave Canada they are no longer subjected to delays due to the possible strike.
Unfortunately once packages leave my home I have no control over their speed, their location, nor do I have any more information than you do. Please have grace and kindness when contacting me about your order's status as I am just as frazzled as you are.
Thank you all for reading this far and if you have any questions please don't hesitate to reach out at cospayton@gmail.com.
